Why We (Already) Matter

Apparently the AP has been reading our little blog. This story, "Is everything spinning out of control?" starts this way:
Is everything spinning out of control? Midwestern levees are bursting. Polar bears are adrift. Gas prices are skyrocketing. Home values are abysmal. Air fares, college tuition and health care border on unaffordable. Wars without end rage in Iraq, Afghanistan and against terrorism.
And ends this way:
And maybe this is what the 21st century will be about — a great unraveling of some things long taken for granted.
Sounds a little familiar, doesn't it?

Maybe they would've linked to you if you didn't have all the F-bombs in your masthead.

And who the fuck is Horatio Alger, anyway?

Hey I heard a chick dunked a basketball in a WNBA game the other night. That's news news, isn't it?

"Many of his works have been described as rags to riches stories, illustrating how down-and-out boys might be able to achieve the American Dream of wealth and success through hard work, courage, determination, and concern for others."
Yeah, because that's the AM-DREM.
I love news.
