Apparently the arctic land is being snatched up by nations around the world faster than the ice even melts. According to discover magazine, this free-for-all, wild orgy of a gorge on the land could lead to an environmental disaster. They ask, "Will there be anything left?"
To make matters worse, apparently the RUSSIANS have laid claim to the north pole. From the discover article above, "In early August a team of Russian geologists placed a flag in the seabed under the North Pole, claiming it was part of Russia's underwater territory." Doesn't Santa own that property??? (discover magazine)
